First prototype software

The paddles are attempting to hit the ball in the middle, but aren’t quite sucessful. The ball travels at either +30 or -30 degrees, and at no other angles. The score increments on every bounce as a test.

Last prototype software

This is pretty close to what I want. The ball travels at 5 possible angles, and hits the paddles at various positions. If the ball hits the end of a paddle, “english” is put on it.  When a ball is missed, the paddle comes sortof close.

The first serve routine is not implemented, so it currently always goes to the right (instead of the loser), and the paddle may not be in the correct position for the first bounce.

For this demo, the sets are shorter than one minute.

Slow motion return

I added a section of code that slowed the ball when it approached the paddle. This let me make sure that the returns are exactly as intended.

The paddles immediately move to their final positions  well before the ball arrives. You can also see the blinking “missed ball” animation on this video.

Watch Prototype Demo Reel

I’ve got the electronics in to a normal-sized watch case. This shows the watch in action and pictures from the build.
